Dad's Progress Report

After getting his transfusion and sleeping the entire day yesterday, dad woke up around 9:40 pm and said, "I'M AWAKE... AND I'M ALIVE!" He was so happy! He was able to come home this afternoon, which he was also very excited about. He would rather be home surrounded by his family than anywhere else in the world.

The transfusions always seem to make him feel so much better. He is awake and alert today and in great spirits. Diana will be home tomorrow morning and I know he is really looking forward to seeing her.

Love you so much mom and dad!!! Keep up the fight dad and know that we love and support you!

And I'm SO EXCITED to see you Dad! I am leaving in just a few hours and I will be there in the morning to cuddle up next to you in your bed. I have been thinking of you all day today. I'm so lucky and blessed to be your daughter. See you soon.

It was really wonderful to see you and Ate Susan yesterday Kuya Earl. You looked really good. Please know that we are thinking of you and your family. You have done so well and it showed what a great dad you are just by watching, listening and reading all the things that your kids says and expressed about you. You are sorrounded by so much love, and much admiration. I think you did well will be an understatement, You are a great man, dad, friend, father husband, grandfather, son and son of a Loving Heavenly Father. In a world where most people would say they do what they have to do, needed to do and can do, you stood out because you did and give the best that you can with that beautiful smile, open arms, with heart, soul and in great spirit. You are and will always be standing in high ground. It is an honor knowing you and loving you and calling you Kuya Earl. I respect and admire you always have and always will.You have brought honor in the service you have given, the uniform you wore as a Marine and valor in the armour you bear, the armour of God.I read a quote somewhere "MY FATHER DIDN'T TELL ME HOW TO LIVE, HE LIVED AND LET ME WATCH HIM DO IT".Watching your children and the family you raised, you taught them how without words but by your example. The Story

It started with a bloody nose. Dad had just returned from two weeks in Hawaii and was feeling extremely tired. His nose started bleeding and they just couldn't stop it. On the third morning, he woke up to blood-covered sheets and pillows. April took him to Urgent Care and after several tests, they sent him home diagnosing him with pnemonia and broncitis.

The next morning April received a call from the doctor at the Urgent Care he was very adament about dad getting attention from his regular doctor.

Once dad's doctor called he gave April the bad news of the test results and urged her to get to the emergency room.

April called Karen and she called all of the kids who immediately got to the emergency room. A few hours later the doctor came in to inform Dad that he had Leukemia.

Chemotherapy treatments would begin immediately and blood transfusions would be necessary and often.

Our family has been rocked by this unexpected news, but we are rallying together and helping Dad fight this battle together. We have connected from Hawaii to Utah to Iowa and New Jersey via Skype. We have united together in fasting and prayer. We are blessed to be part of such a wonderful family. And we LOVE OUR DADDY!
