Last night six of the seven of us Rose kids were at the hospital with Mom and Dad. The nurse allowed us all in his room and we circled around his bed and laughed, cried and prayed together. We reminisced fondly of the love that was always abundant in our home as we grew up and we expressed repeatedly the love we each felt for our wonderful parents and each other.
We are so grateful to know that our family is eternal. We have been witnessing miracles together and have felt the loving arms of our Savior Jesus Christ encircling us and comforting us through these trying times. We know that through His eternal plan, we will be together forever.
I am so grateful to be a witness of my Savior's love, mercy and tenderness. I have felt His love so strongly this week: through the embraces of loved ones, the assistance of complete strangers, the support of friends and the miracle of my Dad's strength through his surgery and trials.
I know that my Heavenly Father will continue to hear our prayers and the prayers of the abundance of people who care for my sweet dad and his family.
i feel like i can relate with the "home has never felt so far away" you mentioned in an earlier post. when i first read on your blog about your daddy, my heart sunk, and tears welled. i felt the same pain YOU described in longing to be by his side. i am so relieved to hear that the surgery went well diana. i admit i remained hopefull in the simple fact that if he is anything like his daughter...he will win this! you are a strong women, and have been an example in my life as well as in the lives of many. i am so greatful to you for taking care of someone i call family. the twins hold a special place in my heart, obviously...since i have a child named CONWAY JON! haha. I remember as a little girl thinking, whoever those two marry will be so lucky. and after meeting you i remember thinking....wow CON IS THE LUCKY ONE! you are amazing diana, which leads me to believe that you come from an amazing family, let by amazing parents! I hope to meet them some day, maybe sooner than later. Please squeese your daddy like i long to squeeze mine...cus really, 10 hours away seems like forever. now tell me when i can watch your littles, so you can visit without worry. and let your strength comfort those around you. love you!
